Larry Birkhead marked a major milestone for his daughter, Dannielynn Birkhead, with a heartfelt birthday tribute as she turned 20. On Sept. 7, Birkhead shared a video montage on Instagram featuring photographs from Dannielynn’s childhood through her young adulthood, set to Lenny Kravitz’s “Happy Birthday.” He captioned the post, “Happy 20th Birthday Dannielynn!

The collection offered followers a glimpse at how much Dannielynn has changed over the years, including recent photos showing her experimenting with a dramatically different style. She has recently appeared with red hair and goth-inspired clothing, a departure from the blonde looks associated with some of her earlier public appearances. Fans quickly commented on her resemblance to her late mother, Anna Nicole Smith.
Dannielynn was born in 2006 to Birkhead and Smith. Smith died in 2007 when Dannielynn was only five months old, after an accidental drug overdose. Following her mother’s death, Birkhead became her primary caregiver and largely raised her away from the intense spotlight surrounding her family.
Now a college student, Dannielynn is developing interests that extend well beyond entertainment and fashion. She has said she is majoring in forensic science and is considering adding studies related to culinary arts because of her love of baking.
She and her father have also maintained their annual Kentucky Derby tradition, an event with special significance because Birkhead and Smith first met at the Derby in 2004. Their continued appearances have become one of the few ways the father and daughter regularly connect with the public.
