While she wanted to end her life, a woman was miraculously saved thanks to a net installed at the bottom of the bridge in Ponsonnas, in Isère. She was finally found on a nearby path, reports La Dépêche.
This Tuesday, September 2, 2025, La Dépêche relayed information that could be
miraculous: a woman in her forties had thrown herself into the void on Monday, September 1 in order to end her life. A project that did not come to fruition, despite a vertiginous fall from a height of 103 meters, because a net was installed below the Ponsonnas bridge, located in Isère, from which it flowed. The reason: a company offers bungee jumping from this same bridge, a mecca for bungee jumping in Europe, and has installed a net a few meters above the ground in order to receive its customers after their upward fall.
The woman, whose identity was not disclosed because she was not carrying an identification document on her, managed to get out. But it was initially trapped half in the water after a rise in the waters of the Drac, a local river. A motorist, who had spotted his umbrella on the road, saw it and raised the alarm, our colleagues say. She was then found by local firefighters on a nearby road. Not wishing to give her identity, she was transferred to the Grenoble University Hospital for check-ups.
